IE has maintained consistent communication and collaboration with partner universities on the "Jordan Optimizing Solar Steam for Industry" (JOSSI) project. Since the project's inception, IE has held online meetings and in-person sessions in Jordan with representatives from the University of Jordan (Dr. Ahmad Salaymeh, Dr. OsamaAyyadi), the German Jordanian University (Dr. Bashar Hammad), the National University College of Technology (Dr. Mutaz Hamdan), and the Middle East University (Dr. Samer Al Asaad).
On July 18th, IE organized a workshop at the University of Jordan, Amman, bringing together 30 students from Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in
Concentrated Solar Heat (CSH) and Solar Heat for Industrial Processes. Led by Eng. Mohammed
Smeirah, the workshop introduced students to the dynamics of the solar energy market and solar
steam technologies, with additional insights from professors on the significance of sustainable
energy in Jordan's industrial sector. The event was enhanced with 3D models of solar collectors,
offering participants hands-on exposure to leading solar technologies from Germany and Sweden.
The workshop concluded with a Q&A session, allowing participants to engage directly with Engineer Mohammad Smeirah and further explore technical aspects and practical considerations related to solar steam technologies. The event fostered collaboration among students and faculty from multiple universities, paving the way for future research and innovation in sustainable energy solutions.
In summary, the workshop on "Jordan Optimizing Solar Steam for Industry" provided a comprehensive overview of solar energy's potential in transforming Jordan's industrial landscape. It served as a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, encouraging stakeholders to explore opportunities for leveraging solar energy to enhance industrial productivity and sustainability in the region.
